With ambitious plans for the future, the city of Oulu and the north of Finland do not want to go about it alone. We want to learn from current experiences across Europe on how to forge alliances between scientists, entrepreneurs and artists, solve problems and make living and working sustainable for our well-being as well as for our environment. The two-year TechArt City Project aims specifically to contribute to the European ecosystem that has been building in the last years where cities & regions, tech companies, R&D organizations, creative & cultural players and art professionals work together to imagine our future. The objective of the innovative Northern AiR residency network is to create permanent supporting structures for the residency field. The initiative explores new forms of cultural mobility and cooperation through art and residencies.

One of the main objectives of the two-year TechArt project is, in particular, to promote the European ecosystem that has been built in recent years, with cities and regions, technology companies, R & D organizations, creative and cultural actors and art professionals working together to imagine our future. The innovative Northern-AiR residency network aims to create permanent support structures for the residency field. The project examines new forms of cultural mobility and cooperation through art and residencies.

For 2022, we are planning several events for a series focused on what Northern Finland and Oulu have to offer, and we want to stimulate discussion and cooperation between ecosystem players through interesting discussions and matchmaking events.
