TechArt presents the Oulu Writers' Association, a contract partner of the City of Oulu's Cultural Services for 2022-2024, thus continuing the previous partnership period from 2018-2021.

The association organises Black Hole - Books meet Rights event during February 11th-12th, 2022. Black Hole is an international literature event focusing on translating and foreign rights.. The two-day hybrid event brings together international book professionals to discuss northern literature, the export of Finnish literature and the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the book industry.

Performers include publishers Bjarne Michael Jensen and Jeanne Dalgaard from Denmark, Nick Barley, director of the Edinburgh International Book Festival, Elina Kritzokat from Germany and authors Simo Hiltunen, Sami Lopakka and Niillas Holmberg. The programme will be published in full in January 2022.

The event is mainly held virtually on the Brella virtual platform. The program includes speeches and discussions on industry practices and experiences. Participants can also meet in one-on-one meetings.

The Black Hole event was first held in February 2021. It succeeded beyond expectations and gathered participants from 19 countries.

The event is part of the Oulu Writers' Association's project to develop an international network of professionals promoting the export of Northern Ostrobothnian literature. The main funders of the project are the Council of Oulu Region and the City of Oulu. The partners are FILI, Helsinki Literary Agency and Arts Promotion Centre Finland.
